Organic Cotton Gabardine Trousers
THE INSPIRATION
The illustration comes from the wise know-how of a local illustrator, starting from this collection theme: “a glimpse into the world”, where the attention focuses on the animals’ eyes, able to capture the climate change before human beings, too often victim of it.
The Peacy trousers imitate a peacock eye, the Lizzy trousers resemble a lizard, the Froggy one a frog and the Lemy one a lemur.
THE SUSTAINABILITY
These trousers are sewn and finished by local dressmakers close to our headquarter, sewn one by one because Zummy takes enormous care over its work. The fabric and inserts are made of organic certified cotton, while seams are made of TENCEL™ Lyocell, cellulosic fibers from responsibly managed forests produced by Lenzing AG. The buttons at the waist, made of recycled post-consumer hemp (on a zero-waste perspective) and a small percentage of recycled polyester, are purchased from a supplier who has joined Greenpeace’s Detox campaign to eliminate harmful substances from production. The elastic on the back of the trousers is 74% recycled post-consumer polyester and 26% natural rubber. The fabric takes on the vibrant colours of our patterns thanks to sustainable inks covered by certifications safeguarding workers during their production, consumers and the environment. We in any case believe that details make the difference, so for the labels sewn onto the garment we chose certified organic cotton. TENCEL™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG.

Packaging
The dust bag containing the product is made of certified organic cotton, printed with certified inks, while the tag accompanying it is recycled paper. To better withstand impact during shipment, the shipment box is made partly of recycled fibres and partly of virgin fibres from responsibly managed forests. The adhesive tape for closing the box is made of paper from sustainably managed forests. We carefully designed the shipment packaging to make it easily and wholly recyclable as paper, with the sole exception of the dust bag, which is an accessory to be kept and reused.
